Encryption is the process of applying a secret algorithm to a body of information so that only the receiving end, having the code to reverse the encryption, has the ability to view the information. Data encryption has many applications, namely within the military, health care, and financial industries, where sensitive information must be securely transmitted and kept from unauthorized access. There are numerous forms of encryption available today, some more secure than others. Working under the restrictions of GLBA
